Target Market & Focus Group Analysis

Messing around with Music

At this moment in time whilst researching and planning my horror film/trailer, I came across some music that I believe would suit the trailer. Personally, I thought it would set the scene if I used this kind of music (shown above) as diagetic music, hinting to the audience the historic nature of the first scene.

Storyboard

I used StoryBoardThat to help create my story board for my horror film. Although it was easy to use and provided me the tools to be able to successfully portray the storyline, it had many restrictions. Firstly, using this website restricted me to state and explain the different kind of shots I will be including at certain points within the trailer as all the objects, backgrounds and characters used within it have all been tailored and made to StoryBoardThat, which meant I couldn't portray the scenes as I wanted too. As this website was free to use it also wouldn't allow me to add more boxes without having to purchase the software. Overall, I believe this software was handy to help create my horror trailer but doesn't reveal and show off all the key elements my trailer will include, such as the different kind of shots, the diagetic and non-diagetic sounds, costumes, characters and setting. Therefore, in the near future before arranging to shoot my trailer, I will elaborate on this storyboard and update my blog with key information about the plot and the trailer itself.
